Welcome to the Parent Forum section.
When parents are involved in their child’s learning and in the life of the school, children do better. Parental involvement is thus a key lever for school improvement.
Parent councils and parent forums offer a way of enabling parents to have a voice within schools. They give parents the opportunity to contribute to policy making on issues which affect them and also to play their part in improving children’s learning.
Schools which work in a genuine partnership with parents have found that this can have a transformational effect on school culture by strengthening the feelings of ownership and commitment of the local community.
Please see Miss O'Connor via the main office if you are interested in being a part of Dorothy Barley Junior Academy's Parent Forum.
